The First Generation
Three generations ago, Gareth Marchand was a young elezen merchant in Gridania, trying to make his way in the world. He worked with local providers in the area to find quality goods and then get them to the marketplace to be sold. His knack for quality and low prices helped him become a great success. His jovial demeanor and giving attitude made him a friend to all in the city. After marrying his long time sweetheart Regan, he built her a grand house in Gridania. Gareth and Regan had a son Gustave, and a daughter Brigitte.
The Second Generation
The first Marchand daughter Brigitte decided to become a wife and mother for her own family. She moved to a more obscure area of the Shroud to be with her husband Stefan. They gave birth to a single son - Nigel.
The heir to the business Gustave ended up a bit on the spoiled and lazy side. He greatly enjoyed fishing almost every day, and would spend hours at the river. Fortunately, his wife Moira stepped in and took great care of the business, hiring help where needed. She even hired a courier to collect the fish Gustave would catch to get them to market that same day. She greatly enjoyed adding up the ledgers and running the books. Gustave and Moira had two children - Isaac and Carrilaut.
The Third Generation
Isaac followed in the hardworking footsteps of his mother. He dedicated himself heart and soul into finding ways to expand and help the business. It was he who expanded the house so that it would now include its own crafting halls. He put several of the people of Gridania to work, paying them good wages for quality goods that would bear the Marchand name. He married an elezen named Whitney, and together they had four children - Emile, Erisande, Adriel, and Aulairet.
The younger son Carrilaut was an extremely talented carpenter. His goods were added to the Marchand line when they went to market. Though it was frowned upon, he married a duskwight named Estrelaint, who was also a trader of woods and pelts. After several years of trying, they had a daughter, Ydaine. However, the birth proved very hard on Estrelaint she she was unable to conceive again. A few years later they adopted an orphaned miqo'te named Taeh.
The Fourth Generation (Present)
Emile Marchand - Eldest son of Isaac. Lost in the battle of Carteneau.
Erisande Marchand - Eldest daughter, current caretaker of House Marchand
Adriel Marchand - Second daughter, currently adventuring.
Aulairet Marchand - Second son, whereabouts unknown.
Ydaine Marchand - First daughter of Carrilaut Marchand. (Player character)
Taeh Marchand - Adopted daughter of Carrilaut Marchand (Player character)
Isielin Danar'i - Second cousin, granddaughter of Brigitte and Stefan Poirier
